Dr. Schechtman and Staff sponsored a Smiles Change Lives Candy Exchange on Tuesday November 2nd. We collected over 60lbs of candy which will be donated to a local food pantry. Dr. Schechtman will donate $1 per pound to Smiles Change Lives. Here are some donors:

Prize WinnersJennie Garth (of Beverly Hills 90210 Fame) hosted The American Association of Orthodontists sponsored The Style-n-Smile Teen Fashion show . The fashion show featured back to school fashions as well as as featured on the Wall Street Journal's Online site. The Dr. Richard Schechtman Award is presented to the college bound senior who has overcome challenges and displayed personal and academic growth throughout four years of high school. 5/31/10 On Monday, Memorial Day May 31, Dr. Schechtman was interviewed by WLNA (1490 AM) regarding his office's collection of care packates for our soldiers overseas. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS OVERSEAS Deadline June 5, 2010 Dr. Schechtman and Staff are collecting care package donations to send to our soldiers stationed in harms way. Suggested donations: Non perishable foods, hard candies (Dr S will supply the toothbrushes :) ) Hair products, shampoo, sunglasses, magazines, socks, hand lotion Sport T's, hats, disposable cameras, soaps, powders, lip balm. As Memorial Day approaches, let's show our soldiers some support. Thank you! 2/24/10  Dr. Schechtman was an exhibitor at the Dream Wedding Showcase held at the Arbor Ridge Banquet Hall in Hopewell Junction NY on Sunday, February 21, 2010. Dr. Schechtman was featuring information on Invisalign Orthodontic Treatment - a technique to create beautiful smiles without braces! Dr. Richard Schechtman is pleased to announce his partnership with Smiles Changes Lives (SCL), a national charity that helps low-income children get braces. "SCL connects deserving children with the orthodontists in their community who want to help them," states LeAnn Smith, Chief Operating Offer of Smiles Changes Lives. Dr. Schechtman has agreed to treat approved SCL patients. This means that SCL can put this doctor's good intention to work by finding the kids who most need braces. "If a young child or teen is embarrassed by their smile it can damage their self concept and have far reaching negative effects on their psyche," says Dr. Schechtman. "That is why I feel that it is so important not to let financial barriers stand in the way of bringing beautiful smiles to as many children as possible." 10/21/09 On Tuesday evening, October 20 Dr. Schechtman was invited to give a lecture to the Dental Hygiene Association of Westchester & Putnam Counties. The presentation was " Mini-Residency in Orthodontics for the Hygienist", held at the Briars Restaurant in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. Dr. Schechtman spoke about orthodontic problems in children and adults as well as contemporary advancements such as Invisalign and Suresmile Technology, which Dr. Schechtman has provided to his patients since November 2007. Many beautiful examples of his work were incorporated into the discussion. The 3 hour presentation was very well received (Dr. Schechtman had so many questions there were no breaks!)  7/22/09
Dr. Schechtman was listed in Westchester Magazine’s article Crowning Westchester’s Top Dentists 2009 This is a listing of the County's Best Dentist of 2009. This was determined by peer reviews collected and analyzed by top Dentists from thousands of dental professionals in the Westchester area. (Survey participants were asked to consider years of experience, continuing education, manner with patients, use of new techniques and technologies, and physical results.
